Chrysler says no plan to retreat from Chinese marketPublished: 05 Apr 2009 16:41:29 PST
Apr. 6, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Chrysler LLC said it has no plan to quit the Chinese market and it will join the upcoming Auto Shanghai 2009 late April despite the great pressure it is facing in the U.S., sources reported.
The crisis in the North American auto market has somewhat affected Chrysler's global strategy, said a spokesman for Asia unit of Chrysler, adding that the automaker will keep committed to the Chinese market.
The automaker plans to introduce three imported models under its Dodge brand to the country in 2009, in a bid to lure more customers and gain more market share, said the spokesman.
In addition, Chrysler, which is in alliance talks with Italy's Fiat, said it will not change its plan to exhibit its cars on the Auto Shanghai 2009 even it has limited budget.
